Luverne Street Music is Luverne, MN's own music school. Luverne Street Music began as an "idea" of Luverne residents, LaDonna Iveland and Janine Papik when they were talking to chamber director, Jane Wildung Lanphere about opportunities for music lessons in Luverne. The idea exploded into reality and all of the pieces fell into place with the partnership of the Episcopal church and the assistance of the Luverne Area Chamber. The studio is currently transitioning to their new location at the Carnegie Cultural Center.
The studio opened its doors in January 2013 and now serves over 100 students! It offers private music lessons for preschool students to adult, ages 3 to 103. Lessons are offered in piano, strings, woodwinds, brass, and voice. Teachers from the region are "secured" to teach in the facility (teachers are paid directly by the students) and Luverne Street Music collects a semester fee that covers the cost of the lesson space and administration. Teachers and students are connected by contacting Shawn at 605-759-0147.
Luverne Street Music is a non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. The studio is managed by a volunteer board of directors. Luverne Street Music is proud to serve the community's musical education needs and we look forward to a bright future full of beautiful music!
